Overview
Mining software is an integral part of any modern operating mine. Unfortunately high level skills to apply the software to its full potential are not always readily available and such resources due to demand can be hard to keep.
Mine packages like Surpac Vision contain macro or scripting languages that allow the software to be automated and customised to suite the particular needs of any operation. The skills required to achieve successful implementation of such customised systems are even rarer and can be expensive.
vComp Pty Ltd offers an ongoing development and support service to assist Surpac Vision users in the pursuit of robust and maintainable customised systems. Users can gain access, on call, to experienced high skilled professionals for direction and advice, or as a resource for actual script development.
The objective of the service is to provide assistance when it is required rather than have valuable mine personnel struggle and waste time in areas that they are not trained, while trying to produce macros to automate mine software operations. Part of the service is to maintain the code for produced systems using dedicated source code control software, and to act as a focal point between staff change overs.

Rollover Plans
The Rollover1, Rollover2, and Rollover3 plans are structured to allow great flexibility with a cost effective day rate. Unused time may be rolled over for up to two months. This means that available time for three months may be pooled together for larger projects. As an example on a Rollover2 plan you could use your 6 days together for that three month period. Note that at the end of the third month the initial 2 days that have been rolled over will expire.
It is also possible to use all reserved time in the first month of a quarter as the time is pre-paid. For example on a Rollover1 plan all three days could be used in the first month of the quarter. Any extra time used after the reserved 3 days would be invoiced in the following quarter.
Please note that for scheduling reasons jobs requiring one or more full days may require two weeks notification. Support is available between standard business hours via email or telephone.
Low-use Plans
The Low-use4 and Low-use2 plans are structured for both high level Tcl users who only require intermittent help or for users who only create macro scripts on an infrequent basis. Low-use plans don't have a rollover facility.
Unused Time
Unused time on a Rollover plan is valid to be used in the pursuing 2 months. After the third month reserved time will expire. Unused time on a Low-use plan will expire at the end of the calendar month. vComp will report monthly to the plan administrator expired, used, and unused time.
Extra Time
Time used above the reserved time will be charged at the rate specified by the selected plan or part thereof. For example on a Rollover2 plan if 9.5 days were used in the 3 month invoicing period then an additional 3.5 days would be charged at the specified rate on the next service plan invoice.
Time Consumption
Time is consumed in units of 15 minutes for all plans. For example the Low-use2 plan allows for a maximum eight 15 minute service requests per month or one 2 hour service request per month. The client determines how the reserved time is to be used. Extra time is charged as described.
Monthly Reporting
Monthly reports outlining the expired time, used time, and unused time, etc will be created at the end of each month. These reports will be forwarded to the nominated service plan administrator via email.
On Site Support & Development
The service contract is for support and development carried out in vComp's place of business in Perth, Western Australia. Reserved time may also be used at the client's premises but will attract a surcharge of 10% on the effective daily rate for venues outside the Perth metropolitan area. The client will also pay for reasonable travel, accommodation, and meals in accordance with the published government travel guidelines.
Service Period and Invoicing
The service period is for 12 months from the commencement date. Invoices will cover from 1st day to the last day of each Australian fiscal quarter (i.e. 1 April - 30 June). Payment is to be made in advance for the quarter with any adjustments to be included on the following quarters invoice. The initial invoice will be aligned to the current quarter and may include a pro-rata adjustment. Payment terms are 7 days from the date of invoice.
Change of Plan
The selected plan may be changed during the service period by providing at least one months written notice prior to the next invoicing cycle.
Termination
The initial service agreement may be cancelled by providing three months written notice prior to the agreement expiry date. If the initial agreement expiry date has passed, then the contract will remain in place until one months written notification is given.
Upon termination of the contract no refunds will be given. vComp will honour any outstanding service time payed for in line with the agreement conditions after the termination notice has been given.
